Xiao Hu, where you been man? One of the finer clips from 2016…filmed a year ago this month.
The title is explanatory. Bless me homies for I have snapped, it’s been exactly two weeks since the last “update“. With that said, maybe I’ll actually put some real time into this site soon. Right now it’s been somewhat of a digital time capsule for my personal use.
This time around (not unlike every other post on this site), we’re starting off with nearly no direction, theme or even loosely-tied/related outbound links; and like 90% of the time, zero original content.
The first item populating within my recent memory’s feed would have to be the new Victoria HK clip. If you’re reading this somewhere in Asia, you probably already know…but for my international players, follow this link and enjoy some Hong Kong skateboarding. While you’re at it, pick up a shirt or something. That last clip of Chris sent me through a big-wave supertube of SERPS, finally spitting me out here.
Everyone’s already seen it, but for posterity’s sake, here’s one of Vermont’s finest: Dave Mull. You should also give Steve and Cookie‘s parts from The Worble’s “New Driveway” while you’re at it.
This came out a while ago in China, but Vice recently posted a nice 25-minute video profiling Dan Leung. I know all about taking hiatuses, so if you’ve ever endured a breakup and makeup with your skateboard, I recommend giving this a watch.
Other shit worth checking out:
Levi’s Skateboarding S/S ’17 is now available in China
Hélas & adidas
In efforts to keep something regularly updated, we’re back at it with both locally-sourced and home-away-from-home content. It was another gorgeous weekend here in Shanghai, so we took advantage of the 70 & sunny weather in early November by occupying (read: getting stuck at) The Center.
A while back the guys from Sweet Skateboards came out to Shanghai for a while and spent a whole lotta time at the now defunct, Weining Lu. RIP (literally and figuratively) to Weining Lu.
Transworld visited the best skatepark in the world in the best state in the world, Andy A-Dog Williams Skatepark in Burlington, VT with Chris Colbourn, Jordan Maxham, Collin Hale and Anthony Durao.
Hélas just dropped their latest line of gear, the Connection Collection. If you’re in China, cop here. If you’re in the states, visit the online Hélas Store.
Skate Jawn wrote about skating in Seoul (while you’re at it, you should check out the Ryan Gee interview as well). Which immediately reminded me of how much fun we had the last time we took a trip to Seoul. Here’s to planning a visit sooner than later.
Tall Chill Guy aka Yung Bachelor will be returning to Shanghai for a little while – hide your kids, hide your wife. Word is that he’s got an art show in the works too, so stay tuned.
Speaking of which, there’s an art show this Friday at Fly, but no one’s made a flier yet…just know there will be free vodka.
Edit: Flier has been added.
If you’re from VT you already know…
